Max Klinger (born February 18, 1857 in Leipzig, † 4, 1920 in United Jena) was a sculptor, painter and graphic artist.

Elsa enjoyed life to the fullest Klinger's side - he painted, chiseled her body into stone, and poured it into bronze. She was his beautiful, extravagant and inspiring muse model.

Max Klinger (1857-1920 ), the famous Leipzig graphic artist, painter and sculptor,
bought a vineyard in 1903 with its vineyards house in Great Jena.

Together with his then girlfriend, the novelist Elsa Asenijeff, he spent many happy Days at the vineyard. In the years 1903-1920 this led to numerous etchings and a large number of drawings, watercolors and oil paintings.



From 1909 he was the top vineyard house to build a comfortable house. In 1910 he got here the 17-year old Gertrude Bock (1893-1932) know that he was standing with her sister Ella model. After a stroke in 1919 Klinger moved his main residence to the United Jena and married Gertrude Bock, with whom he had already lived together for several years. On 4 Klinger died in July 1920 on the "Klingenberg, where he also his final resting place.
